What you will do
You work at a kick wheel — the kind you turn with your foot, so both hands stay on the clay — in a working pottery in Fes. It is a workshop, not a demonstration room.
FesPotteryArt
Three hours at the wheel with a working potter. You centre the clay, open it, pull the walls, and leave with a bowl you made.

Per person. Clay, tools, and firing included.
Centring comes first, and it is the hard part that everyone underestimates. Your teacher puts their hands over yours until you feel what centred clay does. After that you open the form and pull the walls, and you throw several pieces before one holds.
You pick the best one. It is trimmed, dried, glazed in the cobalt blue Fassi pottery is known for, and then it has to be fired, so it is ready a few days later — we tell you exactly when, and we can send it on if you have left Fes. Wear something you don't mind ruining.
